Min Beneath the Trees
Readings 51-75
For a season, I read Min Barklin and the Silver Radiants beneath the canopies of trees—one day at a time. Think of me as a grandmother reading to her grandchildren—stumbling, mispronouncing the odd word, getting distracted, but always wanting them to be immersed in the story. Sometimes, the world intervenes about the reading, planes fly overhead, the wind gets up (and sometimes roar), a neighbour begins to mow—but Min’s story goes on.
